My Quick Story

About Jennifer Hamady

Singing has always been a magical and effortless experience for me. Since I was little girl, I’ve loved to sing more than anything else. And my relationship with my voice is one that I have always honored and trusted.

That relationship was tested though when I went to college to study voice. I had a tough time understanding the way technique was explained. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t seem to master what my teacher wanted me to learn. In the process, my voice started hurting and losing its beauty and clarity. I became tense and anxious.

And then I lost my voice.

Yet out of that tough experience came something truly wonderful. You see, I was so desperate to find my way back to my voice– and my confident self– that I learned how to undo all of the techniques that weren’t working. Step by step, piece by piece, I removed all of the beliefs, bad habits, and tensions– mental and physical– I had taken on in school in an effort to sing well. And when they were gone, there was my voice again. Waiting for me.

When people would ask why singing seemed so easy for me, or how I felt so comfortable on stage, I never used to have an answer. I just sang and didn’t think much about it. But because I’d had that experience in school, because I took that journey myself, I became aware of what is necessary to find your way– back or for the first time– to Your Best Voice.

And I became determined to help others to do the same.

After I graduated from University, I went on to have a rewarding career as a performer, singing on stage, television, and in the studio with some incredible artists and companies. It was a wonderful ride, and now I have the joy and privilege of sharing everything I have learned along the way from those amazing experiences, as well as all I have learned from my graduate training and experience in personal and performance psychology.

In my books and articles, and in my work with singers– as well as actors, speakers, executives and others– I have one goal. And that is to help you to find your true voice, and to express yourself– personally, professionally and creatively– with grace, power, freedom, and joy.

"Jennifer has worked with me to begin my entrance into freedom not just as a musician, artist and singer but as a person, spirit and soul."

Jim Ferrie Singer/Songwriter
“Jennifer has an innovative– and almost spiritual– way of getting people to think and sing outside the box. She helped me conceptualize my voice as not just an instrument, but something I could use my whole body and emotion to express. Jennifer also played an important role in helping me remove my mental blocks about my singing and all of the insecurities that came along with it. She started me on a journey to find my voice– both literally and metaphorically. Her voice coaching is a small investment with huge returns, ones which I continue to see daily."
